I read that on KF and thought it was extremely suspicious. No matter what's going on (because we'll never know the truth), it just reaffirms how artificial his support really is. He's being sustained by a handful of people. I would love to know the exact percentages, but if I had to guess, I'd say that less than a dozen people account for well over half of his annual income.

That's what makes it even crazier.

Phil makes more money on way less viewers than channels larger than him do. He averages 200-300 viewers on average. And sure the troll tips add up, but by no means are they the majority of his income. If you take the 100k he clears anually, that means on an average of 250 viewers pay 400 dollars per year. But it gets even worse, because the majority of his income, comes from a select few whales. There are people who are spending thousands of dollars (PlanetJeff for example) on Phil anually.

I am not going to try to figure out why people keep giving Phil such large amounts of money while there are literally so many other and better ways to spend money. But it does highlight a huge potential danger, if one or two whales where to fall away, it would cause a huge gap in Phil's income, and he has no back-up plan to fill in that gap
