I had bad fungal infections in my esophagus and lungs which had made it nearly impossible to eat or even drink for months (the pain when I tried swallowing) and difficult to breathe. But then they treated me with antibiotics and now I take one ARV pill per day. Its been almost 2 years since I was diagnosed and I havent experienced any noticeable side effects from the pill yet. Im also nearly at a 500 CD4/T-cell count now and am nonviral. (People without HIV/AIDS typically have a count of 500-2,000; I was at a count of 4 when I was diagnosed.) So yeah, its been fine since I started getting the treatment. I do think it messed with my brain in a bad way though because the doctors said they thought Id had it for about 10 years before diagnosis and that was shortly before I started having mental issues in my life.
