Topic | What are the big arguments against tipping in the US? |
ZMythos 07/13/20 12:58:46 PM #1: | It's my understanding that the law requires that companies/businesses make up the difference in wages if a tipped employee earns below the state's minimum wage. So servers will make at least minimum wage in the worst case, and potentially far above it in better cases. I don't care much about the price of the food I'm eating or the drinks I'm served, so if tipping culture suddenly ended and prices rose I wouldn't lose sleep over it. I just haven't heard a compelling reason against tipping practices in the US. --- Rainbow Dashing: "it's just star wars" AutumnEspirit: *kissu* ... Copied to Clipboard! |
