But this would probably be seen as a bigger deal if Trump didn't lie so much. I'd have to defer to someone more knowledgeable if his claim for changing his stance was solely to conserve PPE for healthcare workers. I work in healthcare, and I also browse the medicine subreddit when I get downtime. I remember back in January and February when the pandemic was a growing concern in that community, before the general public was made painfully aware of it, that there was no data on whether or not masks were effective at preventing transmission or exposure. Not insufficient data, just flat-out none. I remember Fauci not recommending masks, not because masks did nothing, but because we didn't know if they were effective. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
