Think we're going down a poor quality slippery slope here, but yes, assuming there was some reasonable imperative for going door to door. If it's some kind of dick waving power move by a local station to show they have "the power," then no. If there's a murderer hiding somewhere in a neighborhood, sure, even though I don't think police would ever actually operate like that in any realistic scenario. Making it a more realistic situation, if there was some power tripping cop pulling over dozens and dozens of people every hour just to run their IDs for some random reason, then that would be an abuse of power to complain about. For someone who was stopped in a legally sanctioned stop, even if it's a legal gray area, then just fucking comply for three seconds.

So even though it's a grey area, the guy should comply because.. it makes the cop's job easier?
