Ugh. Sorry, but I have to rant a bit. My coworkers are all "anti-mask, anti-restrictions" people, and my boss is just fucking insufferable, at this point. She just regurgitates all the dumbass info that she sees online, and especially from Trump, himself. She's gotten into the "It's just the flu" mentality, she insists that everyone is going to get it and that the best course of action is to let it sweep through the country and do its thing, and be done with it. She hates all the restrictions and safety protocols, and she argues that this stuff is killing the economy and is going to put us in a great depression that we'll never recover from.

She absolutely refuses to wear a mask (as do my other coworkers). She's very much in the "It's against my constitutional rights to force me to wear a mask, you can't breath in them, you get overheated, you can't understand anything anyone is saying, etc." camp. I wear a mask every day at work. Do I enjoy wearing a mask? No. But it's not a big deal at all. Shit, I'm short, chubby, and I used to have asthma when I was a kid. Yet, I can wear a mask for hours at a time and not have trouble breathing in it, I don't get overheated, I don't feel like my speech gets muffled or distorted in any way. If I can do it, why the fuck can't anyone else?

The other day, she was ranting about how having to wear masks is bullshit, and it's only because the "Democrats are a bunch of whiny entitled pussies". She blatantly said "They say you're supposed to do it to protect everyone else, but why the fuck should any of us care about anyone else? You have to take care of yourself, not worry about taking care of other people". The fuck? Wearing a mask and following some social distancing guidelines is not "bending over backwards" for other people. She talks as though doing this stuff is some "great burden" and that we're having to break our backs just to make sure strangers around us don't "get a flu".

And hell, if you want to be destructive of your own health, that's your prerogative; like, if someone has a bad drug addiction, for instance, it only affects their own health. They can't spread their health issues from said addiction to those around them. But this isn't like that. It's a highly contagious virus that we still don't know enough about. Most decent human beings try to be somewhat respectful of the people around them, even if you don't know them. That's kinda the decent thing to do.

In a way, it's kind of amusing to me, because for all this bitching about "Democrats being pussies" and stuff, she and all the other anti-maskers out there are the ones throwing these big temper tantrums and acting like babies, all over nothing. "Waah, I can't breath in a mask, I get overheated, I can't understand anyone!" Bullshit. You sit there and say people are being "pussies", and then turn around and cry like a child does when their parent tells them to do something they don't want to do.

And this nonsense about masks "taking away our rights"? Come the fuck on. The government isn't trying to "control" you. They're not trying to "force you" to dress this way or do this or do that. This isn't some dumb conspiracy about the government trying to control people. Sometimes bad shit happens in the world, and we have to adapt to it in ways that may impede upon our usual routines for a while. This is one of those times. Do I wish things could be the way they were before this year? Of fucking course I do. But bad shit is happening, and we have to adapt to it for a while. That's life.
