Check On Your Black Gamer Friends

In the midst of social upheaval, we should work to reclaim the gaming community as affirming spaces from everyone.
By Joshua Adams on July 3, 2020

As you can imagine, the comment section was not impressed with the article...

What terrible asinine offensive sickening display is this?! Go to Hell you alt-left air head.

hey it's another "white people have to take care of black people because they can't do it themselves" article. it's incredibly sad that so many people seem to think being black means you are basically a child who needs to be protected by white people.

As "Black gamer", I would like the people at Gamespot and Game FAQs to stop using us a political props for your virtue signaling.

You are actually making things worst by drawing unwanted attention to those of us that just wants to be left alone and to play online with everyone else just like everyone else. By trying to go about acting like we're some sort of endangered species.

We are not your shields you can use to battle your arch nemesis Trump.

We're people not your Pokmon.

If you care so much Gamespot then why not show that by getting me a Nintendo Switch with Animal Cross New Horizon. In fact give one to 10 other "Black Gamers".

Why not put your money where your mouth is.

This article is disgusting. Not only is it fiercely patronising, it portrays Black people as unable to speak up for themselves, or to defend their own rights. So what, Black people need their White privileged protectors to look out for them because why? Are Black people somehow less capable of looking after themselves and each other.

This article is everything that is wrong with White attitudes to the Black minority. They shouldn't be your 'Black gamer friends' they should be just your 'gamer friends'; race should have nothing to do with it.

Black people want, and deserve, equality. They don't want your White privileged protection.

Unfortunately, GameFAQs only allows me to post 5 quote blocks out of the four page dumpster fire.
