Interesting, I wasn't aware LA was red. Or Chicago. Or Austin. Or Miami.

For one thing, note that I said generally. When you say LA, do you mean the city or the county? Because the northeastern corner of the county is red as fuck. Also, something else to account for, which screws with the statistics in general, is how many confirmed cases are patients from out of town, because of overflow, etc., as patients go to places where they can receive care rather than wherever is closest to where they reside. This is happening in WA for example where people from the red regions are coming into the blue for treatment; and you can be sure that people from the Antelope Valley or Lake LA are commuting to downtown LA for help rather than sticking with AV Hospital.

Or Miami. As a matter of fact, this virus has exploded in major cities which are all overwhelmingly blue but its being framed as though some outbreaks in small rural areas are the main cause for concern. The cities are getting f***ing wrecked and they're trying to pin it on small towns

The initial burst of cases happened in major cities because, wait for it, there is a higher concentration of people, and the virus works that way. The virus still spread to more rural areas, and those areas don't always have the best means of care nor the brightest people in regards to seeking care. This second burst we're seeing is a combination of:

1) Idiot Spring Breakers who crowded the beeches in spite of health hazards (because they're young and thought the virus wouldn't affect them in any way)
2) Rioters, especially when the same police force that they're protesting against gathered them and innocent bystanders together like cattle (causing any attempt at social distancing to go out the window), shot tear gas at them, tore off their masks, maced them, and so on.
3) Trump rally and other gatherings of his supporters who would heckle any critic of their decision not to take proper precautions.
4) People being dumb in general (regardless of political affiliation) as they get too close to one another or refuse to wear masks while public facilities reopen. Though I will say, as someone who works at a grocery store, the people who still stand too close or still go without a mask all tend to talk like someone from the Bible Belt rather than someone who normally lives and works in the blue regions of these heavily populated states. Since my testimony is no better than the inaccurate statistics out there, I won't be making any baseless assumptions about those same people; just that they're more than likely idiots with little to no respect for others.
