The same thing applies to sours, which is why you have a lot of craft breweries coming out with sours that are just sour for the sake of sour.

I agree with this. It's easier for smaller breweries to make a base beer that they add different things to in iterations, and this kinda ironically leads to a lack of variety because those things end up tasting so much alike that you can't differentiate one product from another.

Even some of my favorite breweries are guilty of this.
