New Yorker here from NYC and the sirens weren't only at night it happened several times a day at the peak. I was naive at the time and thought it was for someone having a heart attack or getting shot. Looking back majority of those were probably corona patients. Since I barely hear ambulance sirens now. And back then it was like 40-50 times a day.

Now that I am going out more often I am finding out stuff like several people at my local grocery store died from corona. And 20 people in my apartment building died from it. I had thought I wasn't connected to it but turns out my neighborhood was hit hard. I just wasn't leaving my apartment or talking to anyone or I would have seen the murals that were outside.

what neighborhood?

I'm by Park Slope - Sunset Park, Kensington and that whole Windsor Terrace area + flatbush got hit HARD

I'm between Maimonides and Methodist so like you said, there were a shit ton of sirens in my area
