They're selling as many as they can produce without advertising because people love the cars so much. Sorry JD, no one actually cares about panel gaps being a millimeter off. The overall product is decades ahead of the competition. This is a battery company that just so happens to produce the car that ends legacy fossil fuel brands. Bezos is next on the chopping block and he knows it.
