The Moderna, Pfifer, and Oxford vaccines have shown pretty good results in the early trials in terms of antibody production and safety. I'm cautiously optimistic that one or more of them will be approved by the end of 2020 or early 2021. When the vaccine will be widely available though is a whole different question, producing hundreds of millions to billions of a vaccine won't happen overnight.

Dr. Fauci's statements are the worst case scenario. He's not saying it's likely, just that we can't rule it out. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
