That's literally what's happening here.

We're upset because PRIVATE schools are not supposed to be funded by our tax dollars. And even if that weren't the case, our government isn't supposed to cater/show favoritism to religious institutions.
Neither of those things are relevant to this case. The point is IF states do give tax credits for private schools, they can't discriminate against certain institutions just because they have religious affiliations.
