Uyghurs are not allowed to practice their own culture, vote, or even discuss independence. They're rounded up and put in camps, sterilized, etc. I have no interest in your English language materials regarding the Ryukyu people because they're not relevant to the current situation and the people of Okinawa get to vote for their own government and set their own policies. There is media both at the government and private level available in their language and active promotion of their culture at both the private and government level. Because governments did bad things in the past, doesn't mean it's okay for China to do bad things now. That doesn't make any sense. That's why Whataboutism is considered a fallacy. You can't just say "it's okay for this country to do genocide, because other countries have too!".
