It'll probably go down in American history as the worst blundering of a national crisis we've ever seen. Not only due to the lack of initial preparation and active effort to suppress it, but the abject denial and refusal to take steps to contain it afterwards. Trump will forever be seen as responsible for the deaths of well over 100,000 Americans, an economic crisis near on par with the Great Depression, and a fragmentation of states to an extent we haven't seen since the Civil War.

The absolute worst thing is that this isn't some secret; there's a mountain of irrefutable evidence showcasing his culpability, but there are millions of people who'd rather cut off their nose to spite their face.
