Growing up I stayed with my granddad every summer and he lived in Tom's River NJ and his backyard was like 20 feet of polished stone, a dock, and a water strip that led out to the Atlantic. He was like 5 minutes from the beach. He had 4 crab baskets tied off from his dock and we would have blue crab nearly every day. It's a lot of work for a little bit of meat but it was such a great experience.

Nice. We're down in the Northern Neck region of Virginia, where the Rappahannock River feeds into the Chesapeake Bay and turns brackish. We're also right down the road from an oyster fishery and restaurant, so you can get fresh oysters almost anytime you want. They go out almost every day to pull their catches to shuck and prep, nearly bay to table. Soooo good
