I used to be a manager at Macy's and they have a zero tolerance for anything race related. We once had to fire someone who said the word to another colleague in the non-derogatory sense (she was Mexican, her daughter was half black) because a customer overheard and took offense. That particular incident also occurred after store hours. The customer was still in there because their transaction dragged out and our employee wasn't aware anyone was around. But because the customer complained the zero tolerance had our hands tied. So its kinda weird that "they conducted an investigation" is being used here when that investigation was probably just asking the employee if he said it.

Either way that has nothing to do with the assault. I just keep seeing a lot of people bring up the "investigation".
