There are workarounds like not letting that Assist Trophy spawn if the same character is in battle. But they could even do nothing like how they left Chrom in Robin's Final Smash. I agree that they shouldnt let an AT stop them from adding a character, but I think the fact that an AT exists indicates that they have no intention of adding the character. If Sakurai had any desire/expectation for adding Akira or whoever as a playable character I dont think he would make them an AT in the first place. --- For your Azuarc .
