A lot of people in my social circles have been talking about moving away from California for a while due to the high cost of living, obscene levels of traffic, onerous regulations, government that charges the highest taxes in the country but somehow cannot lay more than a few miles of track for high speed rail between LA and SF in 12 years (then they cancelled the project entirely), etc. With the pandemic, a lot of people are working from home and realizing they really don't need to be in CA to work for a CA company.
