Though they will have way better stats than the one you start out with with at minimum 5 IVs (each Pokemon has 6 stats each on a 0-31 scale where 0 is "no good" and 31 is "best", so 5 IVs means 5 of those stats are "best") and their hidden ability, which you can only obtain from catching a Pokemon that already has it and breeding it with a chance that their offspring will inherit it. I could also breed a copy of your starter for you but I think it's pretty common for people to stick with their starter throughout the story because of that bond, and then toss them aside in postgame. So yeah like Jabodie says, the main story is kiddie stuff but when you get into competitive Pokemon, including breeding, it turns into 5D chess. --- MacadamianNut3 reverse alt ...
