This movie just completely blew me away in a way nothing else on the list really managed to come close to ~~(except my #2).~~ It's just an incredible, trippy, surreal thrill ride from start to finish. Even when it slows down, it never halts its celebration of the weird and wild. I know some peope weren't as interested in the plot once it's inside the whale, but the sudden change of pace and genre flip only made me more invested in the movie. They suddenly become their own society, where the rules of the society are discarded, and they can be everything and anything they want to be. On top of that, Yuasa never hesitates to break the rules of cinema, the laws of physics, or whatever he feels like, which only makes me love the film that much more.
