i've said it before but one of the things that bothers me about rogan is that he seems to have few convictions of his own. sure, he'll have bernie on and agree with most of what he says, but he'll also have gary johnson on and totally agree with his "the state is so terrible and amoral m i rite?" bullshit. people have told me before that he intentionally does this ("he wants to make his guests feel comfortable!") but this doesn't result in him being an appealing podcast host to me.

All of you have a model of Rogan that is completely and totally off-base.

He's not trying to be Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity or whatever. He's trying to be "the view for dudes." Just a normal chat show that discusses politics sometimes, in between discussion about other trivial things, and who doesn't actively court controversy or offense or whatever. Jay Leno would also have Republicans and Democrats on and generally act cordial with both of them. That's literally all Rogan is trying to do.

Just because someone is a "podcast host" doesn't necessarily mean they have to be a political evangelist. Just because every podcast lefties listen to is like that doesn't mean they all have to be...
