The Atlanta Police Foundation gave out in total 2 million after giving out the bonuses No city funds will be used to pay out these bonuses instead it came from the money the foundation raised Dave Wilkinson of the Atlanta Police Foundation said "We felt like it was important at this time because the morale is at the level, there is the rumours of other officers leaving and we just do not want to lose good police oficers" These bonuses were a thank you for those putting in the long hours put in by other officers in the last 3 months They will also put in funds on purchasing 20 new police cars that were destroyed during the protests.
