I've had that happen at both Mcdonald's and Subway.

This last time we went to Subway they seemed to be slammed and not only was our food made late but they forget the tuna in my salad.

I wasn't mad, I just pointed it out. I went to show the receipt and the guy told me I didn't need to, apologized and gave me double tuna.

I seem to get what I give at Subway tbh.

But yeah, it's not unusual to not have the food ready on time it feels like. I can't think of a time at either place our pre-orders were ready yet. They seem to put it off until they have little to no other work for some reason around here.
