This along with the recent extension of the Paycheck Protection Plan for small businesses from 8 to 24 weeks, which is probably providing a windfall to businesses in areas not heavily impacted by the pandemic, is a huge amount of money the government is throwing at the economy. And of course, the Fed has already spent (printed) like 2 trillion buying government bonds to add money to the system. Given all this money printing going on, I agree that it's only fair to extend the $600 per month payments.
