They announced Chauvin's investigation immediately (and fired him immediately) and charges came within a week. The protests didn't do anything except maybe decrease the time for him to be arrested to stop the city from being burned down even further. The protests were going on AFTER they announced the investigation. The video also was basically real time. The rest of America knew about it before everyone at the police station did. And let's be real now. If I choked out a guy in broad daylight, I wouldn't be going home and ordering door dash.
