Unless you are considering Arizona and Florida redneck cities, this isn't really true. Nashville and Carolina are about on the same tier as Calgary and Winnipeg. Ottawa is worse off for sure. They are on the lower half of NHL revenues, but it's not like Canada is dominating in revenue either. It's pretty balanced.

I've been to Wings games in Nashville and that's the loudest stadium i've ever been in. They fill up, it was a regular season game and the building was at about capacity.
