Topic	Dragon Quest XI is one of the most boring JRPG I played recently

I'll admit, the reason I put so many hours into it because I thought it would be like Tales of Symphonia where the game doesn't get good until ~~they reveal the other world tethealla, in which the game's story really does pick up and stops being cliched.~~ But yeah you're right, I think I did a good enough job trying to get through the game.
