interesting how it's ok to use SO MUCH force just so a guy won't get away from the cops. They had no idea why he ran, but it's normal in american culture to use all of the police's resources to catch and restrain someone for running away

I wonder how "safer" european departments deal with a fleeing person twice their size? Just let em go for the greater good?

the "logic" behind "we need to stop them at all costs because if they ran they're definitely a threat to sociey" is pretty dumb and one that could potentially harm more people. If you're chasing a murderer? sure. If you pulled someone over and they ran because they have a warrant for weed, I don't think you need to worry about them killing someone because you let them get away. I feel the same way about high speed chases. They create more potential for tragedy than letting the suspect go but tracking him. the helicopter is there, i don't see why we need 3 or 4 cop cars encouraging the suspect to continue endangering people by running reds and weaving in and out of traffic.
