How is the guy who wanted the economy open responsible? Trump wanted to get people back to work in order to stem the tide of unemployment from lock downs. If anyone is to blame for the unemployment, it's the people who kept extending lockdowns over and over again until America lost so many jobs it couldn't recover back.

because he didnt initiate testing, contact tracing, and required quarantine of americans traveling from foreign countries in the early stages of the outbreak when doing so would've prevented us ever having to close the economy

he forced us down this path with his utter incompetence

then he tried to force us back when it was already too late for the economy

the spike occurred within two weeks of the initial nationwide stay at home order. extension of the orders did not make the recession worse than it was already going to be. failure to take preventative action caused the recession.

he's the president. the buck stops with him. the responsibility for this massive, massive failure is his. his refusal to accept responsibility for the failure makes quite clear that he will continue to make huge mistakes and damage the country further.
