| Sahuagin 05/31/20 11:50:15 PM #23: | I guess an issue with that is that the story would have to be linear or something. otherwise, where is the ship going/what is it doing if the player is not making any decisions about that. it's not what you mean, but System Shock 2 is sort of like that. you're a "space marine" on a large ship, just that the ship has gone to hell and you're given missions from someone you don't know, and it's not really a "job". there's Star Trek on the SNES but you are in control of the ship. you control each individual crew member on the surface of planets that you visit though, and have to use people of different skills to solve the problems you find. there's Star Trek Online, but from the sound of it you start off as 1st Officer, and the intro makes you Captain. --- ...
