Im not going to say flashbacking doesnt slow it down some, tbh I think All Might v AFO also had a few too many in the anime; in comic form talking while fighting isnt as obtrusive; each panel can have bubbles and actions, so the fight never feels like it stops.. Really only the first Nomu fight avoided that pitfall possibly by just letting AM and Nomu bash at each other a bit more. Its a common Shonen pitfall.
