I've been meaning to watch that film and everyone says you should go into it blind. However, I accidentally encountered a spoiler while playing the Role-Playing game Dread. During the game, one of the players started killing all of the other players and it ended with the end of the world happening because that player that was killing was meant to fulfill a ritual of sacrifice. My cousin, who was essentially the equivalent of the Dungeon Master, said "So, it's basically like Cabin in the Woods."

How much of the movie was spoiled for me? I'm told you should go into it blind, but I'm worried I know too much. I watched the opening credits with the Egyptions performing rituals and all I can think of is "Oh, so this is the ritual they have to do to prevent the end of the world."

So, without spoiling the movie, how much was spoiled? And is it still worth watching? I understand I might be completely off on this. I would just like to know.
