It wasn't a debate for thousands of years. It does predate "angstheism" or the internet though.

And the reason is qualities have been attributed to God that didn't originally exist post hoc mostly by various popes

God does not know everything, ever, millions of years before it ever happened.

God does not have unlimited power to do literally anything he wants as effectively as he wants.

Everything makes a lot more sense when you understand God doesn't control everything.

It's called the problem of evil and the responses to it are called theodices. They've certainly been going on for thousands of years in both Abrahamic an non Abrahamic religions.

And in Abrahamic religions, God's omnipotence, omniscience, and omnibenevolence are generally core beliefs, except for people who change their beliefs to account for the problem of evil. Your take on it is most definitely a minority view.
