I have a pointless little anecdote here. I hadn't thought about it until now, but it's all thanks to Neotokyo in these contests that I got into checking out Steam Greenlight stuff back when that was a thing. And without that... Honestly, the games I was exposed to because of greenlight specifically define so much of what I play these days. 100%OJ, a lot of just minor retro indie stuff, various VNs and other anime-related games, all because I took an interest in it starting with Neotokyo. So yeah, even though I haven't even had a computer good enough to even run it in the last like decade, it's indirectly affected a lot for me.

i regret not really having the room to compromise on these and give at least silver star a +1 but that's just how it goes

[extra note: i didn't expect i'd be able to settle on scores here but i guess i did. maybe i'll keep doing them from here on, then maybe my views will have an element of legitimacy to them for once. also it's a good thing songs like the zelda theme existed in this part to denote where to really place an "average vgm" marker at because without it it probably would make all my 8s and higher not seem that significant when they kind of are. and yes, that does mean that even songs like love you love you love are ones I consider good as far as vgm goes in general, that's how my scoring works...]
