The way I read that meme isn't that they have to eat food from their own culture, but it looks more to be a comment about how often White people eat out and don't cook at home, so they're not very good at it.

That's a generalization of course, but I do think it's more of an American thing (not so much a race thing) to eat out a lot. Anecdotally, I had a friend (who cooks a lot) asking on Facebook once why everyone was complaining about making meals during the pandemic. She was like "what did you all do for food before the pandemic?"

Surprisingly, her facebook post blew up to over 100 comments of people saying that they basically ate out 4-6 days a week because they either didn't have time or energy to cook at home after work. Really surprised me as I grew up with home cooked meals every day, with eating out only for celebrations.
