I do also have to give xenoblade x specifically props for overdrive. That was WAY more fun of a system than team attack or whatever it's called that 1 and 2 have. You get the sick music and everything goes faster and faster and faster compared to team attack where everything grinds to a complete halt while you choose a few actions and watch a damaging cutscene. I think the true ultimate form of xenoblade combat is xenoblade 2 using the elma BLADE that turns team attack into overdrive. Tanks are also a lot more fun to play in xenoblade 2.
