0.6% isnt awful, but my county is like 1.6% and a neighboring county is nearly 2.5%.

Still learning how they vary, but Im shocked by my initial impressions.

Every once in a while I think I could afford a $1,000,000 home (probably move to an area where that would be maximized), but property tax seems like it would basically kill the desire for me. Even a $300,000 home seems like an awful deal with property taxes.

I think I might just keep with my apartment living forever or until I move somewhere with lower costs.

I wish there was like a place near the city with mini homes that cost under 100k. Like 1-2 bedroom houses that are under 1000 square feet...but have nice parks and not feel like a dangerous neighborhood. Even something like a trailer park for millennials who want to live ultra low cost by the city.

Renting is a ripoff. Your paying a landlord money you'll never see again. When you buy a house your paying yourself every month. In the longer run it'll end up cheaper to own a home.
