In high school in the early 00's we had it for one of the computer classes, and the teacher pointed out that the license was like 1.3k or something crazy like that (Canadian dollars though). Blew my mind because it was a nice program, but not over a grand nice. At the time I was into web design and I think I used Paint Shop Pro (made by "Jasc" or something similar iirc) for most of my image needs. It was free to use and worked just fine. Edit: I think the license had to be renewed as well, so it was like 1k+ yearly.
