By six months, a lot of parents-to-be are attached. It's a real emotional loss to them and can be just as traumatic as losing a living child. All of their plans and hopes for the kid have been flushed away; no sitting in a rocking chair with the baby, no playing catch or dolls with the little one, no first day of kindergarten, etc.

Taking pictures of the stillborn child is a way to remember them and to grieve. Admittedly, to me, it's extremely morbid and I wouldn't want to see it, but it makes sense as to why people do it. To these people, this was a real child they loved and this is the only memento they're really going to have of them.
