Im ok with it as long as the standard is objective, as in a crime was actually being committed and you actually witnessed it. NOT a reasonable standard which would let you do it as long as a reasonable person would think a crime was being committed.

Also, it would be a defense to murder, battery, assault, unlawful imprisonment etc. Which means if you kill a guy trying to arrest him you are getting tried for murder but you can raise the defense at trial.
