What if other people are feeding your cat and giving your cat water? You could be overfeeding your cat without realizing it. Or your neighbors could be feeding your cat things it's not supposed toe at. When I was a kid, I always fed my neighbor's cat when they come by. He liked whipped cream the most so that's what I gave him.
