TopicWatching Parks and Rec for the first time. The way they treat Jerry makes me...

I felt this way about the 'everybody's mean to Jerry' gag at first, but my opinion on it softened the more I watched. He's never enough of a bumbler to justify his treatment, but on the other hand, the Parks gang would have to be saints to resist the urge to pick on him at times. And if you subscribe to the notion that 'every office needs a Jerry' as illustrated later in the show, Jerry's ideal for it because he can take it: dude's got a great home life, gorgeous wife, three gorgeous daughters, and an enormous penis, so he doesn't really need to prove anything to anyone. The only time the bit still irks me is when otherwise-pleasant characters like Chris practically break character to be mean / dismissive to Jerry just for the sake of keeping the gag going.

I actually skip seasons 1 and 2 on reruns cause the show just skyrockets so high after them.

There's still some gems to be found in S2, like the Greg Pikitis episode. Whenever I get around to rewatching Parks and Rec it'll probably end up like my typical Avatar: TLA watchthrough; I keep telling myself I can skip at least half of Book 1, but then I go ahead and watch it all anyway.
