Name subject to change. So let's give this a whirl.

What is this?
User of the Year (UotY for short) was a multi-round popularity contest that ran on this board for 15 consecutive years before being laid to rest in 2017. This contest will seek to emulate UotY with games that were released from 2010 to 2019. There will be ten rounds that will follow traditional formatting used in UotY, with the exception of Round 9 which varied and I have my own idea of a format to use. For information on these rounds, consult the wiki: https://board8.fandom.com/wiki/User_of_the_Year

When will it start?
Undecided as of now. I'm going back and forth between starting this while the board still has contest traffic or waiting until the finals have concluded and beginning then. I'm open to suggestions regarding this. Either way, it'll be at least a week and more than likely longer than that.

What games will be entered into Game of the Decade of the Year?
Traditionally 220 participants have been entered into the UotY format, with occassionally the field starting with only 180. Depending on how nominations go, the field for this contest will be one of those two starting numbers. The 128 games that made GotD bracket will automatically be entered, leaving us with 92 (or 52) slots to fill. We will determine those slots through a nominations system.

How will nominations work?
We will use this topic to nominate games for entry into the field. Users can nominate up to fifteen (15) games. You may nominate a game that another user has already nominated and that will act as a means to bolster the case for the game to be entered into the field. Once a game has reached five nominations (potentially ambitious and I reserve the right to lower this number if and when needed), I'll consider it locked into the field. As nominations begin to slow down, I'll open up the opportunity for users to double a game they nominated. At the end of nominations, games with the most nominations that aren't locked-in will be placed into the field, and any needed tiebreaker will most likely come down to a preliminary round of voting. Nominations will be open for as long as I see fit until then.

Again, nominations are in this topic. At the risk of being redundant, here are the rules listed out:

Nomination rules:
--Nominate up to 15 games
--If a game reaches 5 nominations, it will be guaranteed entry into the field
--Do NOT nominate any games already in the GameFAQs Game of the Decade bracket. They are already in this contest.
--Eventually users will be allowed to double nominate one of their games, unless we miraculously reach the 220 threshold without a need to.
--Nominations last until a clear picture of the field has formed (a tiebreaker round of voting may be used if needed)

If anybody has any questions, comments, or concerns, let me know. Otherwise, please nominate games!
