My wife could care for me if it ended up being sight, if its sound I'd just need to be extra cautious/vigilant and would limit going out, same with touch. Smell or taste would not be a problem at all. If I got it at the end I couldn't risk it being sight or sound and having that grossly limit my ability to bring home money.
