strange fruits very good re:union is not my favourite deemo thing i saw in noms or even close to it but it's still good. very fun song actually, this was a little closer than i thought it'd be (not that that means that much)
Two things about this match. mycro may have passed responsibility for this matchup onto me, which is fair, but in my defense, i wanted Hinagiku to have a more winnable matchup, which i think it has compared to the Disco Necropolis one it had before. I also don't think Jazzy NNYC would've appreciated this one either, so there's that too. Still... Yeah, I'm sorry. As for the other thing... I really like Hinagiku, if it wasn't clear. But contrary to popular belief it is not because "hinagiku has an anime girl in it" - @Sneasel in 11/16 Time#1844. In fact, any "anime" aspects or vocals are probably the least memorable factor to me, not because they're bad, but because more specifically i find myself entranced by the other elements in it. It was among my favourites in noms and i'm glad it got in.. Having said that, and this ties back into my first point... so was Beyond the Darkness, unexpectedly. So uh oops. Way better than I realised even, I didn't actually expect it would be this high for me. I guess there's only so much one can do to lessen the blow on a low seeded song (short of giving it battle tower)
meteel i don't tend to listen to listen to this particular "c64 european vgm" style that much these days, and i guess i stopped before i ever tired of it. consider this simple but very catchy stuff a remaining guilty pleasure of mine, and bonus points for being a somewhat more contemporary gameboy european videogame song instead and also not european lol pinball. steelchambers is in a weird place for me where i guess it's just... still somewhat that goofy style but trying to be other things and i think that's neat but also it's kind of a waste idk. i forget what my past remarks on it were but iirc i wasn't totally on board then either. wish i was.
