Remember when poeple thought Trump wasnt a real candidate?

Let's be honest here.

Trump was not a real candidate. The DNC obviously didn't want him and the GOP basically wanted anyone else. The problem is that the GOP didn't have any candidates worth even a laugh while the DNC picked freaking HILARY as their candidate. Trump spoke to a lot of common workers who felt abandoned by both parties resulting in his rise while Hilary turned around and called those same common workers a 'basket of deplorables'. TBH, the moment I heard that comment I knew it was over and Trump was going to win. Because it meant Hilary had, effectively, just given a 50/50 chance of anyone who wasn't firmly in her political camp/ideology to be a 'deplorable monster'. That was a DUMB move and probably the thing that cost her any chance of winning. It didn't matter who the Republican's had at that point because it was now a choice between a woman willing to claim you were deplorable if you didn't vote for her and a man advocating to make America great. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who is going to win there.

Even now the DNC's message is basically 'vote for us so we can get Trump out of office'. That's not motivational especially when the DNC candidate is freaking BIDEN of all people. After all, if you hate Trump you are going to vote against him regardless, but if you don't utterly loathe him or at least don't feel that a candidates entire campaign should be basically to get rid of another person that's not really a strong or good message. It's not going to be impossible for the DNC to win, but they seem to be taking constant steps to shoot themselves in the foot for reasons I can't figure out.

The real question will be 'who will be running in 2024?'
