That was crazy. I still haven't watched that season.
Yeah it really is wild when you think about how Nick was willing to do that with one of it's most beloved franchises. Especially in a time when it's not like they had better new cartoons to show anyway.

And I'd recommend S4, it's pretty solid.

Korra's issues is that it felt really rushed and way less thought out compared to TLA. Korra gets the Rey treatment hard.

Yeah that's one of the fundamental reasons why Korra was kinda doomed from the start when you try to compare it to TLA. TLA had the benefit of having an overarching plot throughout it's 3 seasons and was able to come full circle with all of it's plot points and see everything through until the end.

Meanwhile Korra was originally only meant to be a one off 12 episode sequel although it even felt rushed in that 12 episodes (the ending especially). And even after that I don't even know if it was originally planned to go past the 2nd season when that one ended, but you could tell 3 and 4 were meant to go along together kind of seamlessly. And the problem kind of lies there, in TLA the goal was always clear; Aang's eventual fated bout with the Fire Lord. All of the seasons were stepping stones along the way in progressing towards that point. But Korra had a new "final boss" in every season, and outside of S3 directly connecting to S4 there wasn't anywhere near the amount of foresight and cohesion in Korra as there was in TLA.

It's just a shame because I don't even really blame the writers for the most part, they were dealing with the hand they were given and it was not necessarily something that was in their control. Now I'm not saying Korra couldn't have been better or anything, but due to the circumstances I definitely think it was a fine show and a good sequel to TLA.
