I had huge deposits of tartar on the inside of my bottom teeth but not the outside and flipped out because I thought I broke one of my teeth. I was like 23 at the time and deeply bothered that my rotten chompers were already falling apart. Talked to a dentistry student friend of mine and she was like, "Nah you're just nasty.
