Yes. Well - Robert is my birth-name. When I was like 4 years old my dad was piggy-backing me to CVS to go buy some Super Mario Bros. vitamins and some other candy -- and he told me that my name has tons of nicknames, and I'm old enough to pick what i want to be called. He mentioned Robert, Rob, Robby, Bob, and Bobby. I picked Bobby, got off his back and started running in excitement, tripped, and scraped my knee. Then I think I rented Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland and laid on the couch all day watching movies/tv.
When I was going away to college I felt I should sound more mature, so I changed my name back to Robert -- but naturally most professors and people I worked with started calling me Bob. I guess I've *mostly* been Bob ever since - except at my current job most people say Robert, and my gf calls me Bub.
